ShowDown Poker, the newest charity poker room in Portsmouth, Va., will open its doors on July 19, featuring hold’em tournaments and cash games and Omaha cash tables.
The room at 3303 Airline Blvd., Suite 3B, features 5,000 square feet of space and separate tournament and cash game rooms. It will be open Monday through Saturday and offer light refreshments to all players, weekly bad-beat payouts and plans to sponsor two seats a year into World Series of Poker tournaments.
Owners are Charles Jordan, a retired Navy veteran, and Frank Kelley, a co-owner of the Royal Poker League in Virginia Beach.
