John Dolan, a Tallahassee resident, captured Event 8 at the Gulf Coast Poker Championships, a $340 deepstack no-limit hold’em tournament that attracted 445 players. For his victory Dolan earned nearly $33K, a trophy and an entry into the main event.
Dolan is the second Floridian in as many days to win an event at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Miss. Pensacola’s Shirley “Smiley” Slusher won an Omaha/8 event the day before.
