Vinny Lecavalier, the Lightning star, is holding his third annual Celebrity Texas Hold’em Charity Tournament at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa on Sept. 11. The event benefits the Vinny Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at All Children’s Hospital, scheduled to open in 2009.
A list of celebrities has not been released yet, but expect his Lightning teammates and new coach Barry Melrose to be on hand. Poker pro Daniel Negreanu, a fellow Canadian, was in attendance at the inaugural event so stay tuned.
This year’s tournament will offer a prize pool more than $45,000 with the winner’s share being $10K Celebrities compete for a $10,000 donation to the charity of their choice for being the last celebrity alive.
