In an <a href="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/orl-edped-gambling-dogtrack-longwoo062409jun24,0,694591.story">editorial</a> today, the Orlando Sentinel urged the city of Longwood to approve a request from Sanford-Orlando Kennel Club to open a poker room as part of a multimillion renovation.
However, the Sentinel’s support is contingent on the track agreeing to not expand operating hours past the current 12 a day. The recently passed state gaming legislation would allow tracks to operate poker rooms for 18 to 24 hours day depending on the day of the week.
