Calder Race Course broke ground on its $85 million renovation on Wednesday, which will result in space for 1,225 slot machines just a stone’s throw from Landshark Stadium in Miami Gardens in time for next year’s Super Bowl at the stadium.
Nick Sortal of the <a href="http://blogs.trb.com/entertainment/news/gambling/blog/2009/06/calder_has_groundbreaking_for.html">Sun-Sentinel</a> reports that the facility’s 30-table poker room is still on schedule to open in advance of the slot facility this fall in the existing clubhouse.
