Robert “The Thorn” Rosengarten of Aventura won the $1,000 buy-in World Series of Poker NLHE circuit event that attracted 262 players to Harrah’s New Orleans.

Rosengarten is the fifth Floridian in 13 tournaments to win the coveted gold ring at this WSOPC. The 33-year-old flight attendant who works for Southwest Airlines began play at the final table as one of the shortest stacks but went on a rush to take it down, winning the final hand with pocket kings to eliminated Abdul Al-Magableh.

This was Rosengarten’s first major tournament victory, pocketing $61,629.

Tampa’s Manny Minaya, who has numerous accolades on his tournament resume, finished third place. He’s cashed in the WSOP circuit 12 times.

Alan Ramkhalawan, a pharmacist from Clearwater, took ninth place. He previously made the final table at a WSOPC in Atlantic City (fifth place) and cashed six times at the WSOP in Las Vegas last year. He has more than $900,000 in career winnings.
