Kathy Raymond, director of poker operations at Venetian Las Vegas, and professional player Joanne "JJ" Liu have been chosen for induction into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
Liu was born in Taiwan, and moved to Peoria, Ill., to pursue a master’s degree in computer engineering at Bradley University. After graduation, she took a job as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. Liu has more than $2.5 million in winnings and ranks seventh in live tournament earnings among female players.
Raymond has held every position in a poker room over the years. Before coming to Las Vegas, she was director of poker operations at Foxwoods, which was a charter member of the World Poker Tour. Raymond is also a player, having cashed in the World Series of Poker HORSE event.
Liu and Raymond will be inducted at ceremony at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas on Aug. 31.
