Lake County commissioners decided against holding a countywide special election to poll support for Minneola Mayor David Yeager’s idea for a entertainment complex in his city that would also feature a parimutuel facility and poker room.
The Daily Commercial reports that while some commissioners were not necessarily opposed to the proposed project, they couldn’t justify the $400,000 cost to hold the special election in this economy. The city of Clermont also supported Yeager’s idea.
