Quarterhorse track proposed for Fort Myers

Green Bridge Development, an Iowa company owned by the family who started Isle of Capri Casinos, plans to build a $25 million quarterhorse track and poker room in Fort Myers, the <a href="http://www.news-press.com/article/20090123/NEWS0110/901230430/1085/NEWS01">News-Press</a> reports.

The company has applied for city and state permits, and hopes to have the 30-poker-table facility called Fort Myers Downs open by July 2010 on State Road 82 near Interstate 75.

In other quarterhorse track news, DeBary Real Estate Holdings, which lost a bid to have land rezoned for a quarterhorse track and poker room in DeBary, has sued the city over events surrounding the 3-2 vote on Dec. 13, the <a href="http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJournalOnline/News/Local/newWEST01012309.htm">News-Journal </a>reports,
