Cardrooms in 19 California counties forced to shut down

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, faced with a strong uptick in COVID-19 cases as business restrictions had been loosened, has ordered cardrooms and several other types of indoor businesses in 19 counties to close immediately.

The closures will last at least three weeks and then re-evaluated, according to media reports.

Cardrooms in this counties are affected: Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Tulare and Ventura.
