Live Dealer Brings the Game to Life

Live dealer games are the latest in state-of-the-art online casino experience, and really bring an extra layer to the game. Using a live video stream, each game is hosted by a croupier who is filming for a casino set up in a studio. This means that the game takes place in real time and is considered the closest thing possible to being in the casino itself. Live dealer baccarat always draws in lots of players and the game is fast paced and exciting.

The Aim of the Game

In baccarat, there are two hands, yours and the bankers. You can place your bet on either of these hands, but obviously, before the cards are dealt and the game begins. The first card is dealt by the live host and placed face up on the player’s area of the game mat; the second card is placed in the same way on the banker’s area. A second card is then dealt to the player and banker in turn and again placed face up in the correct area. With two cards each, the total is announced. All cards from ace to nine are worth their points value as stated. Face cards and the number 10 cards are worth nothing. If the total of the two cards is over 10, the last number is used, so a total of 15 gives you 5. The winning hand is the one nearest 9 and a correct bet on the hand nearest nine wins.

A Natural Win

If either hand totals 8 or 9, this is considered a natural win and the game ends. If neither total is considered to be a natural win, there is the possibility of a third card being dealt, but only in the correct circumstances. If the player has a total of 6 or 7 no third card can be drawn. If however, they have a total from 0-5, a third card can be dealt. The banker can then draw a third card, but this is dependent on the value of the player’s third card. It sounds complicated but it does soon become easy, and most casinos will have the rules on display. Of course, the live dealer is there to ensure that the game progresses within the rules at all times so you will be in safe hands. Should both hands total the same value, a draw, then no bets win.
