Bike’s Winter Poker Series runs Jan. 2-15

The Winter Poker Series at the Bike runs Jan. 2-15 and this series has something for every bankroll with buy-ins from $50 to $2,200.

A few of the events that are expected to be popular: Event 4, a $100K guarantee deepstack starts Jan. 5. There will be two sessions each day Jan. 5-7 at noon and 5 p.m., with a $150 buy-in. The top 12 percent each day advance to Day 2 on Jan. 8. Players can buy in directly to Day 2 for $1,500 and will start with chips equivalent to 50 big blinds.

Event 9 is the $200K guarantee deepstack with Day 1 on Jan. 10. This event also has three Day 1 sessions twice daily at noon and 5, with a $235 buy-in.

Players will have 25K chips and top 12 percent each session advance to Day 2 on Jan. 13. Players can buy in directly to Day 2 for $2,200 and will start with 50 big blinds.

In both events, any player who qualifies more than once for Day 2 will receive $1,550 ($1K plus an entry to Event 13).

There also will be a PLO/8, HORSE, Omaha/8 and several NLHE events with various guarantees and buy-ins. Check for all the details at thebike.com.

AGUA CALIENTE: The poker room is winding down its monthly freeroll promotion that has been running since March and culminates in the Anniversary Tournament this April. The final two $3K freerolls will be Feb. 4 and March 4. There will be a choice of noon or 6 p.m. Players can only play in one.

To qualify for either, players need to log 20 hours of live play in the previous month.

The top 10 finishers in each month’s tournament will qualify to play the Anniversary event to win a share of $30K in cash and prizes. For a list of all of the room’s promotions, go to hotwatercasino.com.

PLAYERS CASINO: It’s going to be a full month for this Ventura poker room. On Jan. 4 and Jan. 18 at 11 a.m., there will be $75 events with $1,500 guarantees. Each event offers 6K chips and 20-minute levels. There will be no rebuys or add-ons, but re-entry is offered in the first hour.

Saturdays at 11 a.m., there is $75 deepstack with a $2K guarantee for first place. With a 10K stack and a $50 optional add-on for another 10K, plus 20-minute levels, this is a budget-friendly tournament with a good structure.
