Beginning Dec. 16, Horseshoe Baltimore will host its Charm City Holiday Extravaganza, a six-tournament series where each event has at least a $10K guarantee. The series culminates with the $100K guarantee main event Dec. 19. There will be satellites, single and multitable, into many of the events throughout the month.
One Ante Up Poker Cruise package for two for the April 10 sailing out of Baltimore has been added to the prize pool of the 7 p.m. Dec. 20 $100 tournament. The poker room also is running $200 Ante Up Poker Cruise satellites every Friday at 7 p.m.
In other big Horseshoe news, Feb. 26 is the date of the World Series of Poker Circuit. It will be the first time the WSOP will be played in Maryland. There will be14 ring events with the $1,675 main event March 6. Look for satellites leading up to the WSOPC.
DOVER DOWNS: The Royal Crown Poker Room will be giving away an Ante Up Poker Cruise package for two for the April 10 sailing out of Baltimore on Dec. 10. The grand prize for the $75 tournament will be the cruise, but after half of the field has been eliminated, all remaining players will have their $75 buy-in returned to them.
On Dec. 27, there will be a $15K guarantee for $125.
MARYLAND LIVE: Running Dec. 15-21, the poker room will offer a series of $100 tournament flights that lead to a final $100K event. There also will be 12 Days of Holiday High Hands, which is a series of high-hand jackpots each day throughout the holiday season.
ROCKY GAP: The poker room has $45 tournaments Monday-Thursday at 5:15 p.m. Players receive 7K chips and 2K more for an optional $5 dealer add-on. On the last Saturday of each month 10:15 a.m. there will be a $180 event (12K chips).
HOLLYWOOD CASINO: The Perryville room presents player-appreciation tournaments Monday-Friday at 9:30 a.m. A variety of affordable tournaments are most evenings to appeal to all levels of players. These tournaments are attracting large fields with sizable payouts for such buy-ins of $35-$45.
