The holidays are a time to give back, a time to remember that being able to play poker is a luxury many people aren’t fortunate enough to enjoy. Ante Up and Blue Shark Optics are partnering with cardrooms across the country with the Restock the Shelves initiative to help food banks by encouraging locals to come play a charity event at their favorite cardroom.
Northern California cardrooms have stepped up to the plate with three venues already participating in the Restock the Shelves event on Jan. 19: The 101 Casino (Petaluma), Bankers Casino (Salinas) and Red Hawk Casino (Placerville). These rooms also have some great tournaments and promotions in December.
The 101 Casino is a great place to spread your holiday cheer with its monthly $20K guarantee Dec. 19-21. This event has a $240 buy-in, which gives you a 15K stack. The 101 Casino has amazing tournament structures with a fun atmosphere in its poker room and has also some great cash games and live promotions.
Bankers Casino has a fine tournament schedule with a Player Points Challenge attached to each one of its events. The weekday events include a Monday $65 rebuy event at 6 p.m. and a Tuesday $45 rebuy event at 6 p.m. The weekend events are $55 on Saturday at noon and $100 on Sunday at noon. Players earn points for final-table finishes, which earn Player of the Season awards, freerolls and cash prizes.
Red Hawk Casino is hosting numerous HPT500 events throughout December. The HPT500 league features a point system and leaderboard with each participating location represented with a televised final table. Red Hawk’s tournaments include the quarterly $500 buy-in on Dec. 6-7 and $75 weekly events for the weeks of Dec. 8-14, 15-21 and 22-28. The HPT500 national championship will be in January.
Make sure to support these Northern California cardrooms as they are taking steps to make a change to help those in need during the holiday season. Come play the Restock the Shelves events at your local room where you can bring donations and have fun while giving back to the community at the same time.
There will be a member of Ante Up and Blue Shark Optics at each event. Yours truly will be the Ante Up representative at the 101 Casino event on Jan. 19 so come out and get involved in the betterment of your community.
