Haro wins Inn of the Mountain Gods poker title, $21,500

Inn of the Mountain Gods celebrated its annual four-day Poker Championship in September with 83 players entered in hopes of getting a piece of the $75K being paid to the top 10.

Richardo Haro captured the title, $21,500, a leather bomber jacket and a gorgeous white-gold bracelet valued at $5K. Second-place finisher Thupten “T.J.” Thondup left with $19K and third place went to Charles Lynch ($10K).

Other winners were Scott Young, Henry Nguyen, Martin Fryar, Elizabeth Cowans, Fred Chavez, Tony Brooke and Brad Euing. All players were awarded commemorative limited-edition card protectors.

BUFFALO THUNDER RESORT AND CASINO: Look for bounty tournaments on Wednesdays (Nov. 5 and 19) with a $100 buy-in and $10 bounties earned for each player eliminated. The popular $100 Omaha/8 tournament is Nov. 9 with $100 added per table. One $100 re-entry is allowed. The $150 Last Saturday of the Month deepstack is Nov. 29.

SANTA ANA STAR: The progressive qualifier began Oct. 1 and tournaments will be the first Saturday of each month. The event will pay 10 spots and 15 hours of play in a month is required for eligibility.

ROUTE 66 CASINO: The poker room added several new tournaments, including pineapple on Wednesday nights. Tuesday and Thursday afternoon tournaments come with high-hand payouts of $25 and a freeroll into another tournament of equal or lesser value.

SANDIA RESORT AND CASINO: A $125 Thanksgiving night tournament is planned, paying top 10 percent with $1K added.
