The WPT Boot Camp will be in town April 18-21 as pros Nick Brancato and Rick Fuller will be the instructors. April 18-19 will be the tournament clinic, and for the first time in Chicagoland, the camp will hold a cash-game clinic April 20-21.

Brancato is the WPT director of training and curriculum. In 2008, Brancato won a World Series of Poker Circuit hold’em ring at Caesars Palace in Atlantic City.

In 2009, he won the Windy City Poker Championship’s High Rollers event in Alsip, Ill. Fuller is a high stakes cash-game player who was the camp’s first instructor.

BLUE CHIP: Blue Chip’s poker room is hosting a $20 buy-in tournament with unlimited $20 rebuys the first hour. Tournaments start at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Limited to 70 players, this popular tournament often sells out. Registration starts at 4 p.m. and has an optional $20 add-on. For more information on this and other tournaments offered, go to BlueChipCasino.com.

GRAND VICTORIA: Grand Victoria’s seven-table room is Illinois’ busiest. Since taking over as poker room manager, Joe Zuilek has made many improvements. Recently, $2-$3 no-limit hold’em was added.

“Our $2-$3 NLHE game makes it easier for players to move up,” Zuilek said. The poker room offers four buy-in choices: $1-$2 ($50-$200 min-max), $2-$3 ($100-$300), $2-$5 ($200-$500) and $5-$10 ($500-$1,500).
