Horseshoe Bossier City hosted its inaugural King of the Red series, and here are some highlights: Event 2, a $550 no-limit hold’em event, attracted 66 players for a $32,010 prize pool, and Dennis Baker of Haughton, La., captured the title. Matt Colvin, who finished runner-up to Baker, won Event 6, a pot-limit Omaha tournament. In Event 7, Al Theriac won the $10K World Series of Poker Main Event satellite, which had 141 players.
In other news, the Horseshoe is running a satellite on June 10 at 2 p.m. for its top players to have a chance to get in the Big One, the million dollar buy-in One Drop tournament at the WSOP. The top 25 tournament players who earn the most points until June 6 (and the top 25 cash-game players from May) will play in a freeroll where the winner will receive entry into a $25,300 buy-in million-dollar-guarantee mega satellite at the Rio in Las Vegas on June 30, plus $4,700 cash.
