Each week, the Global Poker Index releases a list of the top 300 tournament poker players in the world, using a formula that takes a player’s results over six half-year periods. Ups and Downs
The biggest rise of the week belonged to Leo Fernandez. Now being reflected in the GPI is his win in the R$9,600 (about $5,300) High-Roller event last month at the LAPT Grand Final, for which he pocketed $71,717.

Marc Inizan took the biggest hit this week. Two aging scores led to Inizan’s fall, starting with a 29th-place finish at the 2011 WPT Vienna last March slipping into Period 3. In addition, his ninth-place result at the 2010 WSOPE Main Event aged into Period 4.

What’s In Store?
The live tournament slate is light, but among the 60 players left on Day 3 of the 2012 PokerStars.it EPT Campione Main Event include Fabrice Soulier (26th in the GPI), Olivier Busquet (35th), Todd Terry (56th), David Vamplew (137th), and Ronny Kaiser (177th). Deep runs could vault Soulier and Busquet into the top 20 of the GPI come next week.
