Christmas came early for more than 30 lucky players Dec. 17 at the Capitol Casino in Sacramento as the conclusion of the Fall Into Winnings promotion awarded nearly $30K, 24 flatscreen TVs and a 2012 Ford Focus. The event brought in hundreds of players and awarded $50 every 15 minutes for six straight hours. Casino owner Clarke Rosa was pleased with the event’s success, and Capitol has again started awarding players with raffle tickets to the next drawing.
In addition to the traditional promotions such as bad-beat jackpots, high-hand and royal-flush bonuses, Capitol has a rewards card that qualifies players for drawings and an hourly cash-back program. Daily cash games include $4-$8 and $6-$12 limit hold’em and $1-$3, $2-$5 and $5-$10 NLHE. On occasion the room spreads the area’s only $10-$20 NLHE game that attracts the likes of local pro J.C. Tran.
Daily tournaments start at $30 and consistently draw more than 80 players, plus the monthly “Second Saturday” $220 deepstack NLHE event. A special $550 version of this event will be Feb. 11, with satellites on Feb. 9 and 10.
Capitol opened its doors in May 2000 and was the city’s first upscale cardroom with more than 17,000 square feet housing a 10-table poker room. It’s downtown so it’s accessible from all major freeways. Visit capitol-casino.com or check out our Where to Play pages for more info.
