Seminole Casino Immokalee (near Naples, Fla.) will find out who has what it takes to earn a chance at $1 million during the “WPT Point Challenge” on Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. The first of three tournaments will welcome players to battle it out to accumulate the most points and win a seat in Florida’s premier poker event, the televised $1 million WPT Showdown, at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, beginning April 18.
For a $230 buy-in, players can grab a seat at each of the three “WPT Point Challenge” tournaments on Dec. 17, Feb. 11 and March 17. Players at the final table of each tournament will receive points, with a maximum of 10 points awarded to the first-place winners. The top two players overall will win a seat at the table with some of the top poker players in the country and the chance to take home a minimum $1 million grand prize.
Bad beat? Fold when you shouldn’t have? Seminole Casino Immokalee is rewarding “WPT Point Challenge” third- through 10th-place finalists with a $530 seat at a satellite tournament on March 31. Here, they’ll have one final chance to duke it out for a guaranteed seat at the “WPT Showdown” to compete for the $1 million grand prize.
