Walt Strakowski Jr. crowned Ante Up Poker Tour Player of the Year

Walt Strakowski Jr. of West Palm Beach has been crowned Ante Up Poker Tour Player of the Year.

Strakowski finished the yearlong season with 7,600 points, which included six victories.

The Ante Up Poker Tour’s inaugural season saw as many as 20 events a month in Florida poker rooms and charity events. Players earned points for all Top 10 finishes.

Strakowski wins a cover story in the July issue of Ante Up Magazine, a featured interview on the June 18 Ante Up PokerCast and a custom silver championship bracelet from Madison Jewelers.

The rest of the Top 10 will get stories in the July issue of Ante Up, and all 10 won a pair of Blue Shark Optics.

Strakowski and the rest of the Top 10 players also won a free entry in the June 8 Ante Up Poker Tour Player of the Year Party at Palm Beach Kennel Club. The event is open to the public and features an awards ceremony with light snacks at 6 p.m., followed by a $125 buy-in Player of the Year Bounty Tournament at 6:30 p.m., with bounties on the heads of all attending Top 10 players and Ante Up publishers Scott Long and Chris Cosenza. At least six of the Top 10 have confirmed that they’ll attend.
