Florida is fifth in the nation in revenue from Indian gaming, quickly closing the gap on Arizona for fourth-place, according to the annual Indian Gaming Industry Report released today (Dec. 10).
Florida’s Indian gaming generated $1.9071 billion in 2008, representing a 19.3% growth over 2007, according the report prepared annually by Alan Meister, an economist with Nathan Associates Inc. Indian gaming in Florida is conducted at eight properties among two tribes – the Seminole Tribe and the Miccosukee Tribe.
