Jason Mercier, the young pro from Davie, began the day at the final table of the World Series of Poker Europe’s Main Event as the massive chipleader but ultimately went out in fourth place. Las Vegas pro Daniel Negreanu called Mercier’s preflop all-in with 9-9 as Mercier turned over 7-7 and never improved.
For his efforts Mercier won 267,267 pounds, which is roughly $430,000.
