The DeepStacks Poker Tour has announced a partnership with the Players Poker Championship (PPC) to host a series of international poker tournaments beginning in 2013.
The first stop on the new venture will consist of seven events held at the Westin Resort and Casino in Aruba from May 2 through 9, 2013. The big draw during the eight-day series will be the DeepStacks Poker Tour PPC-Aruba Main Event from May 6 through 9. The $2,500 buy-in event features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and has already drawn commitments from DeepStacks Pros Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, Tristan Wade and Randal Flowers.
The Main Event final table will be live streamed via DeepStacks360 and presented on DeepStacks.com and PPCARUBA.com.
"Adding the PPC as a key strategic partner allows us to expand international operations immediately,” said DeepStacks CEO Chris Torina. "Aruba is one of the most beautiful locations in the world, and bringing the DeepStacks Poker Tour there shows we are serious about offering the very best in tournament poker.”
The winner of the DeepStacks Poker Tour PPC-Aruba Main Event will earn a seat to the 2013 DeepStacks Poker Tour National Championship at Mohegan Sun.
“The PPC is extremely excited to be a part of the DeepStacks Poker Tour," said Sandy Swartzbaugh, co-commissioner of the PPC. “The PPC and DeepStacks have the pulse of today’s player and keep tournaments fresh and relevant, while providing a highly experienced staff and great structures to enhance the quality of our events.”
Before the 2013 season kicks off, there are still plenty of events on the DeepStacks Poker Tour in 2012. Following a highly successful stop at Mohegan Sun earlier this month, the tour will head to Reno, Nevada, from Sept 27 through Oct. 7. There will also be trips to Hampton Falls, N.Y. (Oct. 25-28); Los Angeles, Calif. (Oct. 30); Niagara Falls, N.Y. (Oct. 27-Nov. 5); and back to Mohegan Sun for the 2012 DSPT National Championship (Nov. 23-Dec. 3).
