Derby Lane in St. Petersburg, Fla., had announced that it would reopen its poker room on May 11, but two days later said it had changed its mind after consulting with local government authorities.
The poker room had planned to use just 13 of its 52 tables and limit the number of players at each table to six. Players also would have been required to wear gloves or use hand sanitizer. But Derby Lane CEO Richard Winning told the Tampa Bay Times that it reversed course after having “a difference of opinion with local government authorities.”
Winning told the Times there is no target date for reopening the poker room at this time.
