Because of the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise Management Board has taken action to extend the suspension of operations through April 23. With this decision, TOGE is doing its  to protect team members, guests and the community; and assist the ongoing public health measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.

This will extend the suspension of operations at all four of the Desert Diamond Casino locations near Tucson, Sahuarita, Why (Ajo) and the West Valley, in Glendale, AZ. The Why location convenience store will remain open.

All TOGE team members will continue to receive salaries and full benefits through April 23. During the extended suspension, TOGE will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will adjust its response accordingly as conditions develop.

With direction from the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise Management Board of Directors, Rudy Prieto, CEO of the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, said “This was the right decision for our team members, their families and the entire community. I would like to thank the leaders of the Tohono O’odham Nation for their invaluable guidance in this process. All members of our Desert Diamond family should continue practicing recommended safety measures. In the end, the more we work together now, the sooner we can get through this and welcome our team members and guests back to Desert Diamond Casinos.”
