Beau’s Gulf Coast Poker Championship under way

The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino’s 12th annual Gulf Coast Poker Championship is up and running in Biloxi, Miss.

Event 1, a $300K guarantee for $360 drew a staggering 1,638 entrants as Greg Peoples, a native of Hoover, Ala., won the title and $46,197 from the $476K prize pool.

Event 2 was a $300 event with more than 200 runners vying for a $53,325 prize pool. Tony Dobyns of Porter, Texas, captured the title for $9K.

Event 3, the $30 Big O $300 had 88 entrants, bringing the prize pool to $20,856. Chase Smith from Savannah, Tenn., took home first and a $4,575 win.

The Gulf Coast Poker Championship runs until Sept. 16 and has a unique tournament format designed to offer multiple day events. Registration is daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
