Phil Hellmuth bested 250-plus players that included David Baker, Jennifer Tilly and Greg Mueller and some of the region’s best players to win the main event of the Fall Pittsburgh Poker Open at the Rivers Casino. He beat Baker heads-up for the title, earning $54K for his time spent in the Steel City. It’s Hellmuth’s first piece of hardware since 2012.

HOLLYWOOD TOLEDO: The Arctic Blast Poker Challenge blew into town and brought with it Gavin Smith and Todd Brunson. The $300 opening event crushed the $50K guarantee by more than double, attracting 411 players. Mark Nienow, Anthony Ferrara and Timothy Mulroy chopped for $17K each. HOLLYWOOD COLUMBUS: Mike Sexton hosted a charity event to benefit the OSU men’s gymnastics program. He shared his time with all of the 35 tables of tournament and cash players on Black Friday. Sexton is a native of the Dayton area and has a long history of giving back to the game.

HORSESHOE CINCINNATI: The poker room has a consistent $10-$25 game running three times a week with a $25-$50 game running every week or so that features players from Louisville, Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
