Steve Parino was the chipleader when a three-way deal was reached in Event #4 of the Ante Up World Championship – $180 No-Limit Hold’em Escalator – at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, Calif.
The Escalator was a unique twist on no-limit hold’em, with the levels starting at 10 minutes an increasing by 2 minutes each level. The format means the event begins much like a turbo tournament, but ends as a deepstack, testing players in multiple ways.
Parno, Doyle Johnson and Nick Gorman each won $2,408.
