On Thursday, the Las Vegas Sun reported that the Nevada Gaming Commission has cleared Station Casinos to develop and operate Internet poker. The approval came following the NGC receiving assurance that no money laundering or underage betting will take place.
Under the assurance the NGC received, the Station Casinos’ system will be able to detect underage gambling. The system will also be able to differentiate between bets made within Nevada and those that are not, according to company officials.
Station Casinos includes Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa, Green Valley Ranch, Resort, Casino & Spa, Palace Station Hotel & Casino, Sunset Station Hotel & Casino, Boulder Station Hotel & Casino, Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino, Texas Station Gambling Hall & Hotel, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho and Days Inn & Wild Wild West Gambling Hall.
Unlike similar major casinos which have obtained the appropriate licensing for such a venture, Station Casinos are keeping things in house rather than partnering with an outside company. For this reason, company officials believe they will be able to react quickly to resolve issues if they arise.
Toward the end of 2012, Station Casinos purchased the controlling share of Fertitta Interactive LLC, which included acquiring Ultimate Gaming. The first offering from the company was Ultimate Poker, a free platform that launched on Facebook last June. Earlier this month, Antonio Esfandiari signed on as the brand ambassador for Ultimate Poker.
