Arizona casinos begin to reopen, but not poker rooms

Some Arizona casinos began reopening on Friday, but none have reopened their poker rooms or indicated when they might, and some are contemplating never reopening their poker rooms.

Here are the updates Ante Up has received from casino websites, casino social media accounts and staff members from casinos that have poker rooms:

Bucky’s Casino: Casino will reopen June 1, but the poker room is closed indefinitely.

Casino Del Sol: Casino will reopen on May 28, but no other details have been released.

Cliff Castle Casino Hotel: Casino will reopen on June 1. No information on the poker room.

Desert Diamond Casino: Casino closed until further notice.

Desert Diamond Casino West Valley: Casino closed until further notice.

Ft. McDowell Casino: Casino reopened on May 15, but is awaiting guidance from health experts on when it should reopen its poker room. Staff has told Ante Up that it might not reopen its poker room.

Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Vee Quiva: Casino reopened on May 15, but poker room is closed indefinitely. Staff has told Ante Up that poker room employees have been furloughed through Nov. 1.

Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass: Casino reopened on May 15, but poker room is closed indefinitely. Staff has told Ante Up that poker room employees have been furloughed through Nov. 1.

Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin Casino: Casino reopened on May 15, but the poker room is closed until further notice and might not reopen.

Hon-Dah Resort Casino: Casino closed until further notice.

Talking Stick Resort: Casino will remain closed through at least May 31.
