When the holidays are behind us, it’ll be time for the Million Dollar Heater at the Beau Rivage in Mississippi. For years, Biloxi has hosted the first event of the year and it’s absolutely worth the trip.
The series runs Jan. 3-13 and guarantees $1M in prize pools. The Beau is promising 65 tables to help players avoid the need for alternates, but large fields are expected so preregistration is recommended. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Jan. 3, on the convention level and is open daily (9 a.m.-9 p.m.).
The schedule starts with a $600K guarantee for $400. The first event usually packs the largest field so if you’re seeking a bigger buy-in and fewer contestants, the $2K high roller features a $250K guarantee. There will be 16 tournaments (buy-ins start at $100) plus daily events with formats such as eight-max, Omaha/8 and PLO.
