Tim and Jon Quinn have won the team title in Event #5 of the Ante Up Spring Poker Classic at Gila River Hotels & Casinos in Laveen, Ariz., while Trevor Donaldson won the individual title.
The Quinns of Surprise, Ariz., earned $862 in the team half of the $200 buy-in no-limit hold’em team tournament, which drew 70 entries. They had a combined score of 27, just edging Dan Hartzog & Cassie McCarville for the title by one point. Tim Quinn also earned $100 in the individual event.
Donaldson of Phoenix earned $862 for the individual title.
The team tournament divided two-player teams up on different tables and played out like a normal tournament. Each player earned points equal to the place they were eliminated, and the two teammates’ points were then added together to pay out the team portion of the prize pool, with the lowest score first.
