James Sloat has bested 210 other players to win the Main Event of the inaugural Ante Up Set Sail Series, held at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Del.
Sloat earned $18,948 for winning the $560 buy-in Main Event of the Delaware Poker Championship and will appear on the cover of the October issue of Ante Up Magazine.
Other champions in the five-event series Sept. 3-7 were Mike Zhang, Matteo Menna, Timothy Worley and Oliver R. Carroll.
The Ante Up Set Sail Series is a designation on any tournament series that guarantees at least five Ante Up Poker Cruise packages as prizes.
Dover Downs held a drawing during the first break of all five events, and all players seated in the tournament or a cash game were entered. The five players winning packages for the Nov. 7 sailing out of Tampa, Fla., are: Lashawn Casper of Norfolk, Va.; Edward Wilson of Millsboro, Del.; Debora Brooke of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; Jonathan Sundej of Chesapeake, Va.; and Wayne Lehman of Dover, Del.
Dover Downs has designated its Masters Poker Series Oct. 28-Nov. 1 as an Ante Up Set Sail Series. More information on that event can be found here.
