Danny Grassi was declared the champion of Event #1 of the North Bay Poker Open Ante Up Poker Tour series after an chip-equity chop.
Grassi of San Jose, Calif., warned $1,400 in the $100 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that drew 62 players to The 101 Casino in Petaluma, Calif., shattering the $2,000 prize pool guarantee.
Grassi takes the lead in the 2015 Ante Up Poker Tour Player of the Year race.
The series continues today with Event #2 ($160 no-limit hold’em progressive bounty) at 6 p.m.
