One of the staples on Las Vegas’ summer tournament series schedule – Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Las Vegas’ Grand Poker Series – will be an Ante Up Poker Tour series in 2015.
"On behalf of the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, I am proud to announce that our Grand Poker Series will be an official stop on the Ante Up Poker Tour," said Sam Minutello, director of poker operations. "The Ante Up Poker Tour clearly shares the same vision and passion for poker, and we are ecstatic to be part of this rapidly growing poker tour."
The series will run May 27-July 3, culminating with the Main Event winner appearing on the August cover of Ante Up Magazine, and winning a seat in the 2015 Ante Up World Championship Main Event, a personalized Tour champion’s jacket and a bunch of cash.
The series features 11 $100K guarantee events, ending with a $500K guarantee main event, the winner of which will appear on the cover of Ante Up. There are 51 other events spanning several disciplines. Other popular events include the LIPS championship June 27 and the SPT championship June 20.

Keeping with the strong value players have come to expect from downtown Las Vegas events, Minutello said buy-ins will range from $150 to $560.
“Our goal is to offer affordable poker tournaments with great structures as well as some very large guarantees,” Minutello said. “Follow us on Twitter at @GNLVpoker for the complete schedule, as well as daily updates on general poker room information.”
The Golden Nugget Las Vegas is the jewel of Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. The hotel features 2,419 well-appointed rooms and suites in four towers, a $30 million pool area called “The Tank” that features a three-story waterslide and shark tank, nine restaurants and seven bars, a spa, shops, shows and more.
The full casino features all of players’ favorite casino games and has a 13-table poker room.
“The Golden Nugget has long been one of my favorite places to relax and play while in Las Vegas,” said Scott Long, co-owner of Ante Up Poker Media with Christopher Cosenza. “Sam Minutello has been a great friend to Ante Up, going all the way back to our early days as nothing more than a poker podcast. We’re beyond thrilled that this relationship now takes us to one of grandest resorts in the most exciting gaming city in the world.”
