Mohegan Sun has a lot of great things going on for its poker players. It’s Spring Showdown returns at the end of this month (Feb. 28-March 8) and sports $500K in guarantees. The $1,100 main event, which is March 7 at 11 a.m., has a $125K guarantee, 30K chips, 40-minute blinds through Level 9 and 50-minute blinds thereafter. See the ad on Page 7 for the full schedule, which includes PLO, bounty, ladies and seniors.

In other Mohegan Sun news, every weekend the Connecticut destination is holding the Weekly Star Event on Mohegansunpoker.com. Sit-n-go and multitable satellites run on Saturdays. Winners advance to the Weekend Poker Series Tournament, billed as “the greatest Sunday free-play poker event available online.”

The winner of that tournament receives a two-night stay, with a guest of their choice, at Mohegan Sun’s hotel.

Players receive 1,000 free chips upon registering atmohegansunpoker.com.

TURNING STONE: Look for results from the Winter Poker Meltdown in a future issue as the series was still running at press time. Also, Turning Stone features a $225 monthly Sunday bounty tournament, which is slated to run Feb. 9, March 2, April 6, May 4 and June 1.

The competitions start at 11 a.m. Each player begins with 20K chips.
FALLSVIEW: The World Poker Tour is returning to Fallsview Casino Resort. From Feb. 7-16, the Niagara Falls, Ontario, venue hosts the Fallsview Classic. The highlight of the series, the $5K WPT main event, starts Feb. 13. The prize pool for the tourney is expected to exceed $2 million.

A $550 super satellite for the main event will be Feb. 12.

Situated above Horseshoe Falls, Fallsview Casino Resort has been offering gaming and entertainment options for more than a decade. The floor has more than 3,000 slot machines and 100 gaming tables.
Fallsview Casino was voted “Ontario’s Favorite Casino” for six straight years by Toronto Sun’s Readers Choice Awards.
