One of the best tournaments of the year, the Million Dollar Heater in Biloxi, runs Jan. 2-14 at the Beau Rivage. The turnout will be huge, the prize pools always exceed their lofty guarantees and you can’t beat the hospitality. The Beau is known for slow-moving structures and deep starting stacks.

The series, which has $1 million in guarantees, features a $2,650 main event that runs Jan. 11-14 and has a $500K guarantee. You can find more information at beaupoker.com.

WSOPC: After the MDH, we move north to Tunica, where the World Series of Poker Circuit runs Jan. 22-Feb. 4. This will be the first time Horseshoe has taken the reigns for the WSOP. This necessary change follows the closing of Harrah’s last year. While Harrah’s always hosted an excellent event, Horseshoe has been the home for Tunica poker for longer than I can remember. This should bring the feel of a new event with all of the regular faces you expect to see in Tunica.

HOLLYWOOD: Over at Hollywood Casino Tunica, the Hollywood Poker Open is planning its regional stop for Season 3. The qualifier for Mississippi will be Feb. 26-March 8. With excellent structures, regional HPOs can be great for the casual player looking to qualify for the annual HPO Championship at the M Resort in Las Vegas in June. You’ll want to try hard to win your way in to this one.

Hollywood is known in Tunica for its fine customer service and appreciation for local players so you’re going to have a great time and be well taken care of there.

LOOKING AHEAD: It’s never too early to be thinking of warmer days. The Beau Rivage’s Spring Break Poker Classic runs March 26-April 6, which is right around the time the weather starts to get beach-worthy in the Biloxi area, so bring the family and plan a vacation around a huge tournament.

This is probably the smallest of the three events the Beau hosts annually, but you can expect several hundred in each noon event. The schedule of events is up at beaupoker.com.

The local poker rooms run great promotions and regular daily guarantees for their house tournaments, too. As always, I’ll keep you updated on these promotions throughout the year as they materialize. You’ll also see me around the tournaments, throughout the year, playing at least a few noon events at each of the big series.

Thanks for following along this year and I look forward to seeing you on the felt in 2015.
