Monday nights at 9:30 Eastern on OnTiltRadio.com, Ted Leahy and I co-host the Taking It Down Show. Leahy, a Blue Shark Optics team member, and I (Team Ante Up), will play the Restock the Shelves tournament on HogWildPoker.com on Jan. 19.

Typically, we wrap our night by providing final-table coverage of our HWP-based Final Table League game and a home-game league we host on PokerStars.net.

On Jan. 19, we’ll supply coverage of HWP’s Restock the Shelves event. If you can’t make it to a participating casino poker room, then join us in playing the event.

INDIGO SKY CASINO: The poker room wraps up its Ante Up Poker League promotion on Jan. 6 with a $1K freeroll. The winner will received an Ante Up Poker Cruise package for two.

KANSAS STAR CASINO: Having the day before Thanksgiving off, I joined a field of 60 runners for the $50 freezeout.

It was the first tournament I’ve played at the venue and I’d love to share details of a stunning victory, but I busted somewhere in the top half of the field in the 500-1K level.

I had fun, dealers were quick and we’ll get ’em next time.

HARD ROCK: I’m finally able to report results from November’s Hard Rock Poker Open. The opening $150 event, which had a $150K guarantee, drew 1,265 entries as Andy Andrews of Tahlequah, Okla., earned $20K for his victory.

On the other end of the series, Will Berry of Norman, Okla., won the $100K guarantee main event for $16,143. Jarral D’Andrea, Jack Murdock, Brian Hanes, Suzie Benzel, Bruce White, Carlton Bailey, John Heckencamp, Sarah Postelwait, Randall Turley and Marlion Claman won the events in between.

A group of seven players split the 29-player “Chop It” event.

HOLLYWOOD CASINO: The Kansas Speedway poker room continues to qualify players into two May freeroll tournaments. In December, players began qualifying based upon seat time for the month.

Through April, 20 players will qualify each month into the events.
The top four from each freeroll will win $2,500 entries to the Hollywood Poker Open Championship at the Las Vegas M Resort and Casino in June plus $1,500.

HARRAH’S CASINO: Over the holidays, I was hoping to get in some seat time at casinos in the region.

One location I haven’t visited in years that is targeted is the Harrah’s poker room in North Kansas City.

Be sure to check out February’s issue for a travel report.
