Louisiana resident Jeff Quin took down the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour’s $1,100 main event at the Belle of Baton Rouge on Nov. 21-23. He earned $33,640.

The Belle, which held several $65 and $250 satellites, had two starting days for its final event and exceeded the $100K guarantee with 115 entrants.

Runner-up Garrett Theriot scored $18,500 and Randy Landry was third ($10,653). This was the MSPT’s second stop in Baton Rouge in 2014.

GOLDEN NUGGET LAKE CHARLES: On Dec. 7, the Golden Nugget opened its six-table room, making this the third poker room in Lake Charles. Manager Dave “Stew” Stewart is excited and relieved to finally be open.

“It was a long, hard process but we finally have the doors open and the cards in the air,” he said. “We have all the bells and whistles that every poker player loves: (automatic shufflers), flatscreens, comps. Come by and check out Lake Charles’ newest, most exciting poker room.”

HORSESHOE: The Horseshoe Bossier City hosts a World Series of Poker main-event mega every other Monday at 6 p.m.

The buy-in runs $140 and the rebuys are $100 with alternates taken until the end of Level 4. This is a popular tournament in the NW region. Call the poker room for more info.
