From Jan. 15-Feb. 15, Hollywood Casino at Perryville will offer a $500K bad-beat jackpot in any of eligible games. But it’s not like any usual bad beat, this one is very specific: The hand will need to be quad nines beaten by a diamond straight flush that is 5-9. The breakdown is $250K to the losing hand, $125K to the winning hand and $125K divided among the other players at the table.

In addition to the busy cash tables, a variety of affordable tournaments run most evenings to appeal to all levels. These tournaments are attracting large fields with sizable payouts for buy-ins such as $35-$45.

HORSESHOE BALTIMORE: Beginning Feb. 26, the World Series of Poker Circuit begins. This is the first time the WSOPC has been in Maryland. There will be 14 ring events, including $1,675 main event March 6. Look for satellites, single and multitable, throughout the month. Also, Ante Up Poker Cruise package satellites continue to be offered each Friday evening in January.

MARYLAND LIVE: There are a number of guarantees at Maryland Live this month. On Jan. 17, the Live 500 double black-chip bounty tournament sports a $50K guarantee. This event features $200 bounties for each person you eliminate. On Jan. 19, a $330 black chip bounty has a $30K guarantee. But the most interesting event may be Jan. 26-Feb. 1, when the poker room will offer a series of $100 tournament flights that lead to the final $100K guarantee.

HARRINGTON RACEWAY: The Delaware poker room offers a variety of daily tournaments with $45-$100 buy-ins. These events include standard no-limit hold’em, bounty, Omaha and Omaha/8. Most events have guaranteed payouts that vary. The cash tables have many promotions during football games and for high hands.

DOVER DOWNS: The Royal Crown Poker Room now offers the Money Wheel as prizes range from $25-$300. Players have the option to spin once and take what they get, or they can spin a second time for “double or nothing” and could win $600. For more info on this promotion, be sure to call the poker room.

Drawings on Jan. 9-10 every 15 minutes from 7 p.m. to midnight will be for free spins and a chance to win $600.

In other Dover Downs news, Valorie Daman of Virginia and Daniel Llacera of Delaware each won Ante Up Poker Cruise packages in AUPC satellites.
