Kicking off the year right is the poker room at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, which welcomes the Heartland Poker Tour on Jan. 30-Feb. 9. Buy-ins to the HPT events are as affordable as $140 and there will be satellites leading up to the main event, which will have its final table televised nationally from the property’s popular nightclub LEX (See the ad on Page 23 of our January issue).

ATLANTIS: The poker room runs a $50 event daily at 11 a.m. with a progressive $100 bonus for quads or better. Graveyard bonuses start at $125.

ELDORADO: This downtown casino offers $3-$6 limit, $1-$2 NLHE and $1-$5 stud. A new tournament called the Terminator is popular. After you eliminate players, you carry a $25 bounty token through the tournament. Also, daily events are $30 and the First Friday Freeroll has a $2,500 prize pool.

PEPPERMILL: Games such as $3-$6 limit and $5-$10 NLHE are popular, as was the addition of noon and 6:30 p.m. events. Ultimate Poker players will receive refunds via mail rather than at the cage.
