The New Year has kick-started the tournaments and promotions in New Mexico. Here’s a look at some offerings.
BUFFALO THUNDER: The poker room will hold a $40 event with unlimited $25 rebuys for the first hour, one $30 add-on and $5 bounties. There also will be bounty tournaments on Jan. 7 and Jan. 21, an Omaha/8 event Jan. 11 and the Last Saturday of the Month deepstack on Jan. 31.
INN OF THE MOUNTAIN GODS: The fifth annual Pass Punt & Kick tournament is Jan. 18. The $230 event caps its field at 100 players, so get there early. And everyone loves the Friday night weekly unlimited rebuys for an hour and the OneTwenty Tourney with its Saturday Losers Lounge.
ISLETA: The poker room has Player Reward drawings on Thursdays every hour from 6-10 p.m. for $200 each. Isleta also offers cash for high hands Monday-Thursday ($50 for quad jacks or better and $100 for straight flushes).
ROUTE 66: Hopefully you’ve picked up this issue hot off the presses because Route 66 is offering a $115 New Year’s Eve tournament at 8 p.m. with $2,105 added to the prize pool in celebration of the New Year. There’s an optional $15 add-on.
