The popular Cold Turkey Showdown runs at the end of the month at Riverside Casino. Event 1 is $125 at noon on Nov. 28. The next day there’s a limit $125 Omaha/8 event at 11 a.m. and a NLHE heads-up at 6 p.m. The $375 main event is Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. There will be sit-n-go satellites running from Nov. 23 until the main event begins as well as other satellites running throughout the month. Stop by to see why this is one of the more popular tournament casinos in Iowa.
I dropped by Riverside recently and it’s worth noting the bad-beat jackpot was $122K-plus at that time and it was announcing a WPT/DeepStacks agreement.
There will be a WPT/Deep Stacks tournament April-May 2015. I will certainly have more on that as we get closer so stay tuned. Also, be sure to check out the daily tourney schedule as there seems to be some variety with NLHE, Omaha and Big O.
MESKWAKI: The poker room will host the $300K guarantee Mid-States Poker Tour this month. There will be satellites running throughout the first week of the month with the main event beginning with flights on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. with a $1,110 entry fee. One re-entry is allowed.
CATFISH BEND: The casino resort’s poker room will have a Thanksgiving bounty tournament on Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. for $175. If you haven’t visited Catfish Bend this is your chance. While it’s a smaller casino with five poker tables, it’s well-run and the staff goes out of its way to make you feel welcome.
