I recently visited David Stewart, poker room manager of the Isle of Capri in Lake Charles, and he was delighted to share that he has been busy, mainly because the bad-beat jackpot that many of the players around Texas and Louisiana have been trying to hit. It was last advertised at $239,058 and from the crowd I witnessed, it will be reaching $250K by the time this article reaches your hands.

He also told me he still has the same promotions every day so you should definitely make your way to Lake Charles to try to grab a piece of the swollen jackpot.

L’AUBERGE: Speaking of bad-beat jackpots, L’Auberge Casino Resort had one that surpassed $350K before it was hit recently, and the backup jackpot was past $186K.

If you like great action at the tables, there’s a lot to be seen in Lake Charles this summer. There’s even a tournament series at L’Auberge from Aug. 27-30. The End of Summer Blowout will include buy-ins for $120, $230, $340, and the final event will cost $1,090.

GOLDEN NUGGET: The Golden Nugget Casino in Lake Charles anticipates opening in November. This casino resort will have many top-of-the-line amenities, including a golf course, beach and more.
Once the poker room has announced its management team, more details will be provided.
