Shawn Roberts had a good reason to enter Event #11 of the Ante Up World Championship late – he was at the final table of Event #10. But after accepting a heads-up deal in that event, Roberts went on to become the chipleader in Event #11 when a deal was reached in that event, too.
Roberts of Rockin, Calif., earned $5,500 for the win, while David Mintz of Santa Rosa, Calif., took $3,550 as runner-up in the deal in the 154-player field at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, Calif.
