Coushatta Casino giving away 4 Ante Up cruises

The Coushatta Casino Resort poker room in Kinder will be giving away four incredible Ante Up Poker Cruise packages for the upcoming poker cruise out of Galveston, Texas, in October. The packages, which are balcony staterooms for two people, will be given out in drawings, one each month from June to September.

Players can earn tickets by making a full house or better from June 1-Sept. 20. Drawings will be June 28, July 26, Aug. 23 and Sept. 20. On these dates, one ticket will be drawn every hour from 2-9 p.m. for a chance to spin the wheel to win $100-$300. The poker cruise package worth $4K will be drawn at 10 p.m. and you must be present to win.

This poker cruise leaves the Galveston port, near Houston, and visits ports in the Western Caribbean from Oct. 19-26 aboard the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas. In other Coushatta poker news, for the first time since the7 Clans Poker Cup started, the $300 preliminary event and the $1K main event played down to a first-place winner.

Venkat Chivukula of Houston won the main for $45,406.

BELLE: The Mid States Poker Tour made its way to South Louisiana with much anticipation, finding a nice turnout of 118 players at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel, generating a prize pool of $113,684.

There was live coverage of the final table and updates by the minute by PokerNews. After Day 1A and 1B, more history was made as Erica Sumner was the first woman to finish the day as chipleader, ultimately finishing 10th for $2,387.

As the tournament played out, many notable names made the final table and in the end it was Shawn Schoreck of Gretna, La., who took the title and $34,105.

He was followed by Kou Vang of Woodbury, Minn., ($23,032); Daniel Holmes of Lafayette, La., ($15,006); Will “Monkey” Souther of Biloxi, Miss., ($10,914); Tom Annonson of Bemidji, Minn., ($8,072); Robert Matthews of Baton Rouge ($6,139); Mihail Karasoulis of New Orleans ($4,661); Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler of Las Vegas ($3,638) and Michael Benton of Lafayette ($2,956).
