Daytona Beach Kennel Club is no stranger to charity poker tournaments, hosting the sixth annual Deep Stack Charity Classic on April 27, and this one is bound to be not only the biggest event yet, but possibly one of the most monumental in DBKC history.

Phil Hellmuth, known as the Poker Brat for his TV persona, is the most successful World Series of Poker player of all-time, boasting 13 bracelets. But Hellmuth also is extremely generous with his time when it comes to charity events, which he has hosted all over the world, helping raise more than $20 million for various charities.

Joining Hellmuth this year at DBKC will be 2012 WSOP main-event champ Greg Merson, the “First Family of Poker” Barry and Allyn Shulman and ESPN’s Norman Chad, who has become a regular at this event.

The tournament is a $195 no-limit hold’em event and the winner will pocket a guaranteed $10K first-place prize and a $5K entry into the Venetian’s $5K main event. Everyone who makes the final table will be awarded with a trip to Las Vegas and an entry into the Venetian’s Deep Stack Extravaganza. With more than $70K in prizes, trips and packages up for grabs, as well as a chance to take part in a seminar with Hellmuth, the classic is certain to sell out even quicker than it has the past four years, so grab your ticket while they’re still available.

BESTBET JACKSONVILLE: The largest poker room in North Florida has all kinds of player appreciation promotions this month.

Among the festivities are high-hand prizes and big payouts, including $1K with $500 table share as well as a random drawing where all live games will be eligible for $500 with a $200 table share. Bestbet will be running $390 satellites all month for its next tournament series, culminating in a 20-seat guarantee satellite on April 26.

Tickets to the $390 satellite will be given away through high hands the week leading up to the event.
