Maryland Live Casino hosts the first $1 million Live Poker Classic on March 10-24 (schedule is below). The classic is the biggest series since the poker room opened in August. The series has nine events over 14 days, with a guaranteed$1 million to be awarded. The $3,500 main event features a $400K guaranteed prize pool.
“The poker room at Maryland Live has enjoyed terrific success since opening last August,” director of poker Mike Smith said. “We have welcomed poker players from all over the country, both professional and amateur, who bring with them the demand for a poker tournament series of this caliber. We are so thrilled to introduce the first $1 million Live Poker Classic.”
DOVER DOWNS: The Crown Royal Poker Room at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino will host a March Madness Bracket Challenge. Sixty-four players will be assigned one of 64 teams in the NCAA basketball tournament.
Sixteen raffles will be held each playoff day at 3, 6, 9 p.m. and midnight. Raffle winners receive $25 or gaming chips in Round 1, up to $1K in the final round. During March Madness games, there will be high hands and splash pots.
On March 8, Dover Downs hosts a $20K guarantee. For $199, players will receive 10K chips and 30-minute levels.
HOME GAMES LEGISLATION: The Maryland Legislature has bills to legalize playing in and hosting home poker games. House Bill 305 and Senate Bill 428 make it legal for you to host and play in home games. There will be ongoing public testimony hearings before the Senate and House members.
CHARITY TOURNAMENTS: All In Enterprise hosts a charity tournament March 9 at 1315 K St. NW, Washington, D.C. Proceeds go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The cost is $275 for 30K chips. For more information, visit allinenterprises.org/
