With the recent merger of Southwest Poker News and Ante Up, I will return to focusing my column on New Mexico and Texas poker rooms.

BUFFALO THUNDER RESORT: Omaha is big here, with an Omaha/8, $100 added, $100 buy-in tournament planned for Feb. 9. Also, on Feb. 22 is a $150 Last Saturday of the Month no-limit hold’em deepstack event, with live-game pretournament bonuses.

ROUTE 66 CASINO HOTEL: The popular $10 tournaments on Monday and Tuesday evenings are wildly popular, but starting this month will be a $120 monthly event with $1K added. The date and time will always be TBA so call the poker room for more details.

ISLETA CASINO: This month, Isleta presents “Win your buy-in to the WSOP” on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, 94 Rock tournaments are on Wednesdays, with a DJ-player bounty. The winner gets first-place money plus a prize from 94 Rock. A $2K freeroll is planned for Feb. 22, plus look for eight added-money tournaments during the month.

INN OF THE MOUNTAIN GODS: The Inn scheduled the Road to the Main Event on Feb. 22 (qualifiers begin at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.) and Feb. 23 (finals start at 11 a.m.), with a $330 buy-in, which includes a $99 room rate and a buffet ticket for two. Early registration runs until Feb. 14.

First place will be $16K basaed on 220 entries. See the ad at the left and call the poker room at 575-464-7799 for more details.

NORTHERN EDGE NAVAJO CASINO: The poker room is planning big changes, but it can’t reveal them just yet. One thing it can share is the $50 Friday noon tournament is moving to 7 p.m. More to come.
SANTA ANA STAR CASINO: The poker room’s first anniversary on Feb. 1 marks the beginning of its Saturday $3K guarantee, $150 buy-in tournament.

Sunday night’s $10 tournaments promise a payout of $500 and Share the Love hourly live-game rewards help with tournament buy-ins.

SANDIA RESORT CASINO: The bad-beat jackpots at press time were $93,552 (hold’em) and $29,966 (Omaha).

Texas

KICKAPOO LUCKY EAGLE: Here are some of the room’s February events: The Monday Grand Freeroll is a 50-player max event that has a shared prize of $1K; Super Tuesday Tournament has a $25 buy-in; the $120 Sunday Showdown is the first and third Sundays; the bounty tournaments are the second and fourth Sundays ($75).
